On the 35th week of pregnancy, my husband woke me up at night — what he said Made Me file for divorce.

We have been trying to have children for three years.

Tears, doctors, hope… and finally-two stripes.

It was the happiness I had been waiting for so long.

We prepared the nursery together, chose a name and dreamed of the future. He kissed my stomach every day.

But closer to birth, something changed.

He got cold.

Someone else’s.

He left more often, came back later, barely talked to me. I tried to convince myself that it was stressful.

Until that night.

I was 35 weeks old. Tired, exhausted, she could barely stand on her feet.

He woke me up in the middle of the night.

His voice was strange.

“I have to ask you something.”…

I immediately felt anxious.

“About what?”

He paused … and said something I will never forget.:

– I want to make sure the baby is mine.

The world has stopped.

I looked at him and couldn’t believe it.

“Do you think I cheated on you?”

He started making excuses, saying that his friends had said something, that he just wanted to ”be safe.”

But it was too late.

He didn’t just ask a question.

He destroyed trust.

I sat quietly, holding my stomach, and realized that this was no longer the man I loved.

And then I said:

“If you don’t believe me… we shouldn’t be together.”

He didn’t even stop me.

No excuses. No attempt to fix everything.

The next morning I packed my things, took off my ring and left.

I just left a note:

“One day you will realize what you have lost.”

It’s been a few weeks.

I gave birth to a daughter.

My little miracle.

And that’s when he reappeared, broken, with regret in his eyes.

He realized his mistake.

But there are some things that can not just be forgotten.

Sometimes a question…

It can destroy everything that you have been building for years.
