I worked as a veterinary nurse and lived a normal life, until one day my husband, after drinking a couple of glasses, drove a car riskily — I suffered a serious spinal injury in an accident. At the hospital, he swore to take care of me, but soon his patience ran out: minor manifestations of fatigue and pain became a reason for him to get annoyed, and then he declared that he “could not ruin his life” for the sake of my rehabilitation and told me to move out in a couple of days.

It turned out that the financial picture was also far from honest: the main accounts and large savings were only in his name, and he secretly transferred money to hidden accounts, while I paid the bills and lost my job due to injury. When representatives of the insurance company came to the door with an inspection, discrepancies in his applications and transfers were revealed — and the investigation revealed insurance fraud and hidden payments that he was trying to embezzle.

As a result, the money in the case was redirected to me, and proceedings were initiated against my husband; I went to my sister, began to recover gradually, and found a remote job at a charity organization. Although the path to full recovery was not easy, I found the support of my family and peace of mind, and what was happening to him was a natural payback for my betrayal.
