YouTube sensation MrBeast, legally known as Jimmy Donaldson, has married South African content creator Thea Booysen. The couple celebrated their union with a week-long honeymoon on Richard Branson’s private Necker Island in the Caribbean. Surrounded by around 70 close friends and family members, the couple held an intimate ceremony officiated by a family friend and chose to maintain privacy by excluding cameras from the event, aside from an official wedding photographer.
The wedding festivities were filled with personal touches, including a custom Nicole + Felicia Couture gown for the bride and a classic Ralph Lauren tuxedo for the groom. Guests enjoyed a variety of activities throughout the week, including snorkeling, kitesurfing, and interacting with the island’s resident wildlife, before gathering for a reception that featured a menu of sushi, Wagyu beef, and fish, topped with carrot cake—the bride’s personal favorite. The couple shared their first dance to Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ “Die With a Smile.”
Reflecting on their trip, the couple, who first met in South Africa in 2022, said they “clicked right away.” After a period of long-distance dating, Donaldson proposed on Christmas Day 2024. For the newlyweds, the week-long celebration was a rare and precious opportunity to gather their loved ones in one place, and they expressed a strong desire to make such reunions an annual tradition going forward.
