More than three decades have passed since the release of “Home Alone,” but the film is still an integral part of the Christmas holidays for many families. It is interesting to see how the children and adults who once remained forever in our memory thanks to this warm comedy have changed.

Kevin’s main character, Macaulay Culkin, grew up under the scrutiny of the public: at the age of eight, he became a celebrity, then went through a difficult period with addictions and a long withdrawal from cinema. Today, he has managed to rebuild his life and career: he is married to Brenda Song, has two sons, and is returning to roles in TV series and projects, choosing more thoughtful work. His example shows that after severe trials, you can find a balance again.

There are both happy career continuations and sad events among adult actors. Catherine O’Hara, who played the McCallister mom, remains a sought-after actress and continues to appear in major projects — her charisma has not faded with age. At the same time, actor John Heard, who played the role of his father, died in 2017 and is remembered for many notable roles in film and television.

The supporting characters are no less recognizable: Joe Pesci, who played one of the “wet bandits,” now rarely acts and prefers a quiet life, and Daniel Stern, after the success of the film, worked a lot in voice acting and television. Among the less pleasant pages are the high—profile scandals involving Devin Ratray (played by the older brother), which overshadowed his career. And images such as Kevin’s “scary old man” neighbor still touch viewers and remain an important emotional component of the story.
