During the 26‑mile run, one of the participants noticed a small abandoned puppy by the side of the road. Despite the tension of the competition and the options to hand over the animal to the audience or hand it over to the escorts in the van, the girl decided not to leave it and took the puppy with her.
She continued the race, carrying the baby all the way to the finish line. After the finish, the runner took the puppy to the vet to make sure of his condition, and then introduced him to her friends, who immediately accepted the new member of the company.
