The story of the elephant named Raja has touched millions of people around the world. He spent almost 50 years chained to a chain, suffering abuse and deprivation. It was only recently that the long-awaited moment of freedom came for him.
When animal rights activists took Raja out of captivity and brought him to the Indian elephant conservation center, the animal did not immediately believe what was happening. The footage shows how he carefully steps on the ground, realizing: now he will no longer be beaten and tortured. At that moment, the elephant couldn’t hold back his tears — real tears rolled down his face.
Elephants are incredibly intelligent and sensitive animals, and Raja clearly realized that his suffering was over. Now he lives in peace and care, living out his years in decent conditions. But, unfortunately, the story of Raja is only a rare exception.: Thousands of elephants are still victims of human cruelty.
