A homeless dog in the US tried five times to steal the same stuffed unicorn from a store — and ended up getting not only the toy, but also a loving owner.

In the US, a homeless dog became famous for his persistence and devotion… to a toy. The animal repeatedly tried to steal a purple stuffed unicorn from the same store. After the fifth unsuccessful attempt, the dog’s story took an unexpected happy turn.

Employees at a Dollar General store in North Carolina said that the tailed thief had sneaked in several times, waiting for someone to open the door. Each time, he headed for only one place — the shelf with that very purple unicorn. “He always went straight to that toy, as if he knew it was his,” one of the employees shared.

When the employees’ patience ran out, they called animal control. But the inspector was so touched by the dog’s affection that she bought him the coveted toy herself. At the shelter, the new pet was named Sisu. He turned out to be friendly and obedient, although a little feisty with other dogs. The very next day, Sisu and his beloved unicorn found a new home — a symbol that loyalty, even to a toy, can lead to true happiness.
