Dogs have long been considered man’s best friends, especially in difficult times. The story of Baxter, a special dog from a hospice in San Diego, only confirms this.

Baxter was no ordinary dog. As a volunteer, he helped patients at the end of their lives, bringing them comfort and peace. His presence brought something to the rooms that cannot be described in words – warmth, hope, and a moment of respite from pain.

Lisa McCollough, one of the hospice employees, repeatedly emphasized how much of an impact Baxter had on the emotions and mood of the patients. People blossomed when this sweet helper entered their room – their attitude changed, their outlook on their illness changed, and even a smile would involuntarily appear.

Unfortunately, Baxter is gone. But his story and the tenderness he showed to every patient remain in the memory of many. Just watch the last recordings of him to feel what everyone around him felt – peace and a gentle message: “Don’t worry, everything will be fine.”
