The shiny sock that Michael Jackson wore during his performance in France was sold at auction for over $8,000. This information was reported by TRT Global.

The sock in question is a white sports sock decorated with crystals, which was part of the singer’s stage outfit during his “History World Tour” in 1997. It was in this sock that Jackson performed his legendary hit Billie Jean. After a concert in the southern French city of Nimes, one of the technicians noticed the sock discarded near the artist’s dressing room and kept it. Over the years, the fabric has lost its original whiteness and the rhinestones have lost their shine and darkened, but the item remains a true relic for fans: “It is a unique item, almost iconic for Michael Jackson fans,” emphasize the auction organizers.

Interest in the pop king’s stage wardrobe is nothing new. In 2009, a resort in Macau purchased his famous glove, which started the history of the “moonwalk” dance in 1983, for $350,000. And in 2023, the black hat that the artist wore before the same performance was sold in Paris for over $80,000.
Meanwhile, interest in Jackson continues unabated: the Emmy Award-winning documentary has been followed by a sequel titled Michael. The project is planned to be expanded into two feature-length parts.
