When Lupita and Carmen Andrade were born in 2002, doctors gave them almost no hope. The conjoined twins, joined at the abdomen, shared vital organs, and doctors told their parents bluntly that the girls were unlikely to live more than a year. But fate decided otherwise.
The sisters had to learn to live literally as one — each controls only one leg, constantly adjusting to the movements of the other.
