“Different destinies, one body”: one of the Siamese twins is preparing for her wedding, while the other has taken the wheel — this is how they live today.

When Lupita and Carmen Andrade were born in 2002, doctors gave them almost no hope. The conjoined twins, joined at the abdomen, shared vital organs, and doctors told their parents bluntly that the girls were unlikely to live more than a year. But fate decided otherwise.

The sisters had to learn to live literally as one — each controls only one leg, constantly adjusting to the movements of the other. The possibility of surgical separation existed, but Carmen and Lupita consciously refused the operation, realizing that the risk was too great and the price of freedom could be fatal.

Despite their physical connection, each of them has her own life and dreams: one learned to drive a car, the other met a man and is preparing for marriage. Together, they plan to become veterinarians, proving that even the rarest trials do not deprive a person of the right to love, choice, and a fulfilling future.
