Ranger is a purebred German Shepherd from the United States, but he is about three times smaller than typical representatives of the breed. This appearance is due to a rare genetic disorder called pituitary dwarfism. Because of this, the animal’s growth stops after a few months, and his coat remains soft and fluffy, like a puppy’s.

The dog’s owner, Shelby Mayo, said that Ranger inherited the condition from both parents — this is how the disorder develops.
