The story of the friendship between a tiger, a lion, and a bear began in 2001 in Atlanta, when wild animals were found in terrible condition in the basement of a private home: sick, emaciated, and deprived of normal care. The police took them to the Noah’s Ark shelter, where specialists examined the animals, and the bear cub even underwent emergency surgery. Leo the African lion, Baloo the black bear, and Sher Khan the Bengal tiger got a new home and the opportunity to live together in the same territory, which had a positive effect on their development and socialization.

Over time, the trio became a real family. Baloo grew to 320 kg, Leo to 160 kg, and Sherkhan, the smallest, reached 120 kg. The animals occupied a nine-hectare territory where they played, ate, and rested. A special hut served as a place for them to sleep and retreat. Over the years of living together, there was never a conflict between them: the tiger, lion, and bear supported each other and became closer with each passing year.

However, their happiness was short-lived. In 2016, Leo the lion died, leaving Sherkhan and Baloo alone. The tiger mourned the loss of his friend for a long time, often visiting a sculptural replica of a lion installed on the territory. In 2018, Sherkhan passed away, and now Baloo is left alone. The shelter staff carefully monitor his condition, organizing entertainment and celebrations so that the animal does not fall into depression. The famous trio has been separated, but the memory of their friendship lives on at the shelter.
