A cheeky passenger put her feet up on my table on the plane – but her behavior turned out to be an unexpected lesson for her

The flight would be an ordinary one-a few hours in the air, a little rest and waiting for arrival. I made myself comfortable, put my things on the folding table and hoped to have a quiet time.

But everything went wrong almost immediately.

The woman sitting behind me suddenly threw up her legs… on my table.

At first I thought it was an accident. Maybe she just reached out and put them away now. But no, she arranged herself as if it were her personal space.

I turned around and politely asked her to remove her legs.

She looked at me with obvious annoyance and replied that she was ”so comfortable” and that I could put up with it. Her tone was as if I was asking for something completely unreasonable.

I tried to stay calm.

I asked her to move her legs again and explained that I wanted to use my table. But she just rolled her eyes and ignored me.

At that moment, I realized that a simple request would not work.

I decided to act differently.

I pressed the button to call the flight attendant.

When she came over, I calmly explained the situation. The stewardess turned to the woman and asked her to remove her legs, reminding her of the rules of conduct on board.

The woman began to get upset, claiming that I exaggerated and ”made a big deal out of a molehill.”But now she couldn’t ignore the request anymore.

She had to remove her legs.

It would seem that everything should have ended there.

But no.

After a while, she tried the same thing again. This time I did not wait. I immediately contacted the staff again.

And that’s when the situation took an unexpected turn.

She was warned more strictly, and then transferred to another place, away from me. The other passengers were already beginning to pay attention to what was happening, and she was clearly uncomfortable.

She went and gave me a dirty look.

And I was finally able to safely use my table.

Sometimes people think they can ignore other people’s boundaries.

But it only takes a person who calmly and confidently says ”no” to make everything fall into place.

And that day I realized:

Politeness is important.

But self-respect is even more important.
