A new wax figure of Princess Diana has appeared at the Grévin Museum in Paris. The statue depicts Diana in her famous “Revenge Dress” and was unveiled in November 2023 to mark the 30th anniversary of the princess’s birth. The figure was created with particular care: sculptor Laurent Mallamachi and the museum’s craftsmen strove to accurately capture Diana’s facial features and the details of her outfit in order to preserve her recognizable image.

The presentation of the figure coincided with the release of Andy Webb’s book “Dianarama,” which reveals details of Diana’s famous interview with Martin Bashir for the Panorama program in 1995. In the interview, the princess spoke about the difficulties in her marriage and personal life, and later an investigation revealed that the journalist had used deceptive methods to obtain Diana’s confessions. Now the unveiling of the statue in Paris takes on a new context, linking the artistic reproduction with the history of the interview.

Diana’s legacy continues to be significant: after her divorce from Prince Charles in 1996 and her tragic death in a car accident in August 1997, the princess remained a symbol of compassion, charity, and style. The figure in the museum under the dome will be part of an exhibition alongside sculptures of Beyoncé, Marie Antoinette, and Jean-Paul Gaultier, highlighting her iconic status.

The public reaction was immediate: Parisians and Diana’s fans expressed delight and nostalgia, noting that the city had never completely parted with the princess. The new figure attracted the attention of tourists and became another reminder of Diana’s influence on the world of fashion and culture as a whole.
