Instead of throwing away an old armchair, we decided to give it a new lease of life, and the result exceeded all expectations. The armchair was generally intact, but the upholstery was clearly worn out — over the years, cats had left their mark on it. Instead of simply throwing it away, we saw its potential and decided to completely transform the piece of furniture.
The first step was to take the chair apart, remove the old fabric, and use it as a template for the new upholstery. We replaced the old foam and straps, reinforced one of the weakened legs, and created a sturdy seat base using new furniture straps, polyurethane foam, and synthetic padding.
We chose a bold geometric fabric pattern for the upholstery. The work was particularly difficult in the armrest area, but in the end, everything turned out perfectly. The wooden elements were also tidied up: they were sanded, treated with wood care products, and coated with walnut-colored oil and wax, which emphasized the natural beauty of the beech.
Once the chair was fully assembled, we carefully checked all the joints. The final transformation is impressive: the old and worn chair has been turned into a stylish and durable piece of furniture to be proud of.
