When Claire realized that her income as an artist was not enough to pay off her mortgage and maintain her home, she made a bold decision—to downsize in the most unconventional way possible. Instead of fighting to keep her traditional home, she opted for a simpler and more fulfilling lifestyle.

A year of planning and design
Determined to create a comfortable life, Claire spent nearly a year researching, learning from others who had built tiny homes on wheels, and sketching her own unique design. She carefully planned every detail to ensure her new home would be both functional and cozy.

Transforming a van into a dream home
Claire invested $26,000 to purchase the van and another $45,000 to transform it into a fully equipped living space. From the outside, it looks like a regular vehicle, but once you step inside, it reveals a well-thought-out tiny home full of charm and practicality.

A functional workspace: Positioned by the window, Claire’s workstation serves as a compact desk with plenty of built-in storage. This is where she creates art, manages her finances, and stays connected to the world.
Cleverly designed kitchen: On the opposite side of the van is a spacious cabinet for storing spices, kitchen utensils, and tools. The countertop folds down to reveal a small bathroom with a toilet, and a temporary shower curtain can be added if needed.
