A young student creates wheelchairs for animals and distributes them completely free of charge.

“You can’t live in vain,” says a 17-year-old schoolgirl who decided several years ago to devote herself to helping animals.

Like many children, she used to spend her time playing games, but everything changed after she first visited a shelter and saw a dog with paralyzed legs. Volunteers bought him a special wheelchair, which made the girl wonder: why should such devices be so expensive and inaccessible?

She decided to develop her own version from materials at hand — pipes and wheels from an old baby stroller. The first product was a success, and very soon people began to ask for help. The girl created a page on social media, and her project quickly spread across the country. In the first year, she made 20 wheelchairs, and a year later — more than 200.

She does her work for free: she collects materials from friends, accepts parcels from caring people, and works part-time in the summer to buy what she needs. Today, she is known in many parts of the country, and the wheelchairs she makes help hundreds of animals return to a full life.
