I saw a homeless man in the supermarket, and what I noticed about him changed my life.

It was an ordinary trip to the store.

I left the supermarket with bags of groceries and just thought about what to cook for dinner. People hurried past, cars passed, everything looked as always.

And suddenly I saw him.

He sat against the wall next to the entrance, a homeless man wrapped in old clothes. He had a paper cup in his hand, but that was not what caught his attention.

And what he was wearing.

There was one thing that looked strangely familiar. Something personal. Something that should not have been in his possession.

I quit.

I just stared for a few seconds, trying to figure out why I had such a strange feeling inside.

My heart began to beat faster.

I came closer, not knowing why.

He looked up.

And at that moment I felt that this was not just a chance meeting.

Something in his story was wrong… or, on the contrary, too important to pass by.

I offered to help him.

He was cautious at first, but then he spoke softly.

And his words changed everything I thought about him right now.

He said that he had lost everything against his will — and that sometimes life can break a person so that he has nothing left but the street and memories.

The longer I listened to him, the more I understood.:

This is not just a homeless man.

And someone who once had a completely different life.

I didn’t know how this story would end.

But I knew one thing for sure.:

Sometimes fate puts us in front of people for a reason.

And a short meeting can forever change the way you look at the world.
