On September 19, 2016, conjoined twins Prince and Love Zalte were born in Mumbai. Their mother learned about her complicated pregnancy in the fifth month, but she and her husband immediately decided to fight for a chance to give their children a full life.
Immediately after the birth, the babies were examined by doctors, who confirmed that separation was possible but would require complex preparation and the involvement of the best specialists. The parents raised funds and turned to a clinic, where a team of doctors began planning the operation.
On December 12, 2017, a unique procedure took place. Thirty specialists worked on the children for 12 hours. It was only in the early hours of the morning that the doctors informed the happy parents that the operation had been successful.
After the separation, the twins had to relearn simple skills such as crawling, standing, and walking. The brothers took their first independent steps at the age of two, but this journey marked the beginning of their new, independent lives.
