Several years ago, American researcher Richard Weiser visited a swan sanctuary in the UK to help rehabilitate birds. Among them was a swan that had been injured in a collision with a fence.

When the man picked up the bird to carry it, something unusual happened: the swan relaxed and wrapped its neck around him, as if hugging him. Richard himself admitted that he felt the animal’s trust and was deeply moved by this moment.

The incident surprised everyone, as swans are usually considered aggressive and unfriendly. This gesture of tenderness became a symbol of how animals are capable of thanking humans and responding to care with trust.
