📖 While cleaning out the closet, I accidentally stumbled upon a worn notebook.
It turned out to be my wife’s diary, written before our wedding.
On the first few pages, she described our meetings. I smiled… until I came across the words:
“I smile every day so that he doesn’t realize how much I’m afraid of being alone.”
I sat down on the floor, unable to turn the next page.

We have been married for 12 years, and I always thought that her laughter and lightheartedness were part of her personality.
That evening, I accidentally stumbled upon a diary she had hidden deep in the closet.
I began reading with curiosity, but the further I read, the harder it became.
There were her fears, her experiences, which she had never told me about.
When I got to the line about how her smile was a shield, not joy, something inside me broke.
And I realized that sometimes whole worlds of pain live next to us, which we don’t even suspect.
