We hired a housekeeper who always wears a scarf.
First of all, we didn’t think too much about it. She was polite, calm and very good at her job. The house was always immaculate, and she never caused any problems.
But there was one thing we couldn’t ignore.
She always wears her scarf. The weather doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter what the situation is. It never ends.
It began to seem unusual, but we never asked.
One day, while cleaning the shelf, a photo frame accidentally fell. She picked it up and stopped abruptly.
Her expression immediately changed.
She stared at the photo for a long time, and then carefully put it back and quietly left the room.
That night I couldn’t stop thinking about it, so I asked her if everything was okay.
She hesitated for a while.
Then she said that the scarf was not just an item of clothing.
It was something deeply personal, connected to her past, with memories that she could not leave behind.
She didn’t explain everything, but there was something heavy in her voice.
Before she left, she said::

After that, we never asked again.
